Hello, today I am joined by the lovely Ann B Harrison and she is sharing her latest novel with us - Irish Seduction. I have cover envy, Ann, it is gorgeous. In my random way, I sent Ann a heap of questions which she gallantly answered. Life, love and all things Ann What is your definition of romance? The sensation of your heart thumping madly when the person of your dreams walks into the room. The feeling of despair when they leave again. Partners/lovers aside, who would be your ultimate love? Jamie Fraser. What is more realistic in this day and age, Happy for now to happy ever after? Explain! Happy ever after. You should never go into a relationship thinking it will be for the short term, where is the romance in that? It is too easy to walk away. Grow a spine and make your relationship work. Who do you find strangely attractive and why? Sean Connery. He wears a kilt and has the sexiest voice alive. Have you become more or less romantic as you grow older? More I think. How do you unwind? I read a good book or play in the garden getting my fingers dirty. Getting it Write Why do you write? Because the voices in my head won't let me sleep if I don't. Do the voices in your head "tell" you what they want you to write? How? Yes always. I never have a say in what I write bar the first spark of an idea. I'm a pantser and if you don't know what that means it is this; I never every plot anything out. I write as I go and that is how my characters take over. What do you do when a flash of inspiration hits you at an inopportune moment? Try to remember it if I don't have my phone or laptop handy. Doesn't always work sadly enough. Each author has a unique voice. How would you describe yours? No idea, I just write. Writer's block? Do you get it and how do you get over it? I don't actually believe in writers block. My way of thinking is your brain works 24/7. Sometimes you might not like what is coming to mind but you just have to keep writing anyway. Something good might come out of what you put down today. How do you balance the writing ‘you’ with all the other ‘you’s? I really don't. My husband says my laptop is glued to the end of my fingers, he's right. Ultimate story you'd like to write? A best seller of course. Preferably Young Adult. How do you deal with the dreaded rejection? Cry for three seconds and move on. How do you deal with reviews that aren't as positive as others? You can't please everyone and you shouldn't try. I don't love every writer out there and I don't expect every reader to love my work. What is the one thing you can't do without when writing? Laptop and endless cups of tea. What was the name of the first story you ever wrote? Witchling, my young adult novel (written under the name of Ari Harper) When did you know that what you had written was good? When I got my first and then second contracts so quickly after I subbed them. How did you feel when you were offered a contract? I cried. I had three contracts on my desk within 48 hours and was beside myself. Irish Seduction What's the blurb for your book? Jasper has fallen for the young woman that invades his dreams every night and seduces him. Little does he know she is the daughter of the gods that rule his part of the world. When he is called upon by them to teach their youngest daughter the elemental spells, he is horrified to find out who his mystery lover is. With the fate of his tenants and his own life at risk, Jasper must find a way to have her without bringing the gods wrath on them all. What and/or who inspired you to write Irish Seduction? Jasper is a character in my YA book Witchling who demanded his own story. Irish Seduction is his tale. Describe your two main characters in 10 words each. Jasper, romantic, sensual and strong. Leona, headstrong, determined and devoted. How long did it take you to write it? About six weeks. When is it out? Irish Seduction is out now. Who is your publisher? Breathless Press What attracted you to them? They have great editors and I will stay with them because of the way they look after me. What's next? I'm half way through another Outback novel.
